Movie Magic For Poker Players

November 8th, 2011

One of my earliest memories of a poker game is in the film of 1965, Cincinnati Kid. The film follows a young player (played by Steve McQueen) as he is opposed to the poker player at the moment. The film (considered by many to be one of the best poker movies) led to my interest in the game. In more recent times I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the film with Matt Damon, Rounders.

Perhaps what I like most about poker movies are sharp and sarcastic dialogues, the rounds of bluffing, the estimated quiet way of winning, and the suspense of what might be the next card. In these films, is the man (or woman) with a greater intelligence that wins the game.

Video poker games offer entertainment. This is not my main reason to see them. He can not resist a good game of poker sometimes, I want to stay on top of various tips that my poker buddies to use. And believe me, those of us that play poker only occasionally, most of the tricks come from the film.

One trick poker, we learn that the film is to see to read the faces of other players. Eyes that are depressed or have a happy glow in them are sure giveaways and a series of cards that a person has done. Of course, that the poor might be looking for you, and perhaps all his talent will play at the poker table. Be careful. Do not let your card out of your facial expressions or body language. And do not be fooled by someone else.

More importantly, not to give way to an emotional outburst. In a poker game, the pressure builds up. But we must focus on the game, the winner. Emotions do not give your opponent the advantage. Do not lose control of the game. Also, avoid drinking idiot for a poker game, unless you’re in the mood to let others win. A person who is drunk during a party is ready to drown in losses.
